KINGDOM OF JERUSALEM: Anonymous, AV dinar (2.93g), 'Akkâ, 1252, Ma-6, âlahu wâhid, "God is One" in obverse center, cross in reverse center, Extremely Fine, RRR.
In the Malloy catalog, the Crusader dinars (aka bezants) were catalogued by Gordus & Metcalf, who state that for this type, all dates are known from 1251 to 1258 except 1252. The date is very clearly 1252 on this example (only the word alf is off flan).

Kaleb is the first Axumite king to use a Biblical name. The obverse reads 'Kaleb Basileus', while the reverse reads 'Son of Thezena'. The three crosses refer to the Holy Trinity. Kaleb's coins were not included in the recent Axumite hoard, which terminated in the mid-5th century.
