Lot 636 GREAT MONGOLS: Chingiz Khan, 1206-1227, AV dinar (2.09g), Baldat Ghazna, AH(618), A-1964, clearly showing the name of Chingiz Khan and the mint name, date off flan, some weakness, EF, RR. This is probably the lightest known specimen. The weight varies from just over 2g (this piece) to about 5.5g. Estimate $3,500-4,500

Lot 278 OTTOMAN EMPIRE: Süleyman I, 1520-1566, AV sultani (3.45g), Zabid, AH963, A-1317, also listed under Ottomans of Yemen as A-A1118, lovely strike with boldly clear mint & date, EF, RRR. Appears to be an unpublished date for this type, which I had listed is the checklist as dated sometimes with the accession year AH926, most often with the actual date, with most dates known AH945-962 (sic), to which 963 can now be added. Estimate $3,000-3,500

Lot 117 ARAB-BYZANTINE: temp. Walid I, 705-715, AV solidus (2.96g), Spania, AH94, Indiction 11, A-122, W-181, star in obverse center, characteristic of the Spanish series, lovely strike, EF. Indiction year as INdCXI in reverse center, Hijri year as XCIIII at end of reverse marginal text. Estimate $3,000-3,500

Lot 1033 GUPTA: Kumaragupta I, 414-455, AV stater (8.00g), Altekar Pl. 12, 6, king standing, shooting arrow into the belly of a tiger / goddess Lakshmi nimbate, standing on a small crocodile, feeding fruit to a peacock, one small nick at the rim, bold strike, EF, R. Same obverse die as a specimen from the Bayana hoard, different reverse die, sold by CNG in their auction 67, lot 1068 (Sept. 2004). Also sold by Baldwin's, Auction 40 of March 5, 2005, Lot 663. Estimate $2,500-3,500
