Lot 966 TIMURID: Sultan Husayn, 1469-1506, AR tanka (4.69g), Khwarizm, ND, A-2432.3, very rare mint for the later Timurids, countermarks by Sultan Ahmad (type #2453), Extremely Fine, RRR. Since the undertype of Sultan Husayn could not have been struck before AH896 and Ahmad died in AH899, the countermark must have been applied at some time between 896 and 899. |
