Lot 288 UMAYYAD: Yazid III, 743-744, AR dirham (2.90g), Wasit, AH126, A-139, lovely strike, Very Fine to Extremely Fine. This is the only Umayyad coin that can be securely assigned to Yazid III, as the obverse margin bears only four annulets, whereas those of Walid II bear five and those of Ibrahim bear seven, all dated AH126. The analysis was published by DeShazo & Bates in "The Numismatic Chronicle", series 7, vol. 14 (1974). |
