Alamgir II, whose name is very clear on this piece, died on 29 November 1759, which fell during the 6th month of AH1173, long before the first dies for 1174 would have been engraved. Moreover, the style and symbols retain the appearance of the year 4, 5 and 6 rupees of Alamgir II with the mint name Kalkata. The use of the Murshidabad mint name was acquired at the end of 1760, and the transfer of the ruler's name from Alamgir to Shah Alam was authorized in July 1761, whence Stevens has carefully concluded that this exceedingly rare type must have been struck during the first half of 1761 (the Hijri year 1174 ended on 1 August 1761). The quantity struck must have been minuscule.

They recommend therefore that copper, brass or tutenague tickets may be stampt of different values for the payment of those people, which shall be taken back at the value stamp'd on the respective tickets.
