Lot 1088 QING: Tong Zhi, 1862-1874, AE charm (7.13g), Yunnan Province. Hua Guangpu p.1751 (derived from H-22.1177). boo yun in Manchu only, VF to EF, RR. Estimated Value$120 - 160. Although Hua Guangpu states this was cast at the Baoyun Bureau in Yunnan, it is unlikely it was produced there. The similarity of this type and others with various mint names cast in the same style would indicate they were cast at one central mint, perhaps somewhat officially, likely during the reign of Guang Xu, 1875-1908. |
